Mutsu 陸奥 was a Japanese warship (Battleship). The second and last unit of Nagato class battleships. She was named after ancient state name (now major area of Aomori prefecture).
Contents
History
- 1 Jun 1918, laid down at Yokosuka Naval Yard.
- 31 May 1920, launched and named as Mutsu.
- 24 Oct 1921, completed and commissioned. Classified as Battleship.
- 8 Jun 1943, while staying in Hiroshima bay, lost accidentally due to internal explosion.
- 1 Aug 1943, discarded from pennant list.
